In a survey online made by the researchers, they have found data that waste pollution really does exist in Surigao city and not a lot is being done to solve it.
According to the research of the journal of entemology studies , "results obtained scores gives an impact especially to the diversity of the macroinvertebrates in Surigao River since there were no EPT collected during the time of sampling, indicating that the Environment is not clean." Meaning the water/environment was polluted by waste and other polluters. (Escatron et al., 2022)
Solution to waste pollution
Based on our research, There are many solutions to waste pollution like reducing waste production in the first place, however proper waste management seems to be the most prominent and effective of them all.
