"its because if we dont, waste pollution will get worse and destroy our environment

      - Rey palacio, waste management specialist, Eco waste coalition"

Why is proper waste management important?

proper waste management is important because it is a solution to waste pollution. aside from being a solution to waste pollution it is also a way to manage and solve other problems such as lack of resources and health issues.

Are there any laws in place regarding waste management local and national? the answer yes there are.

For example the , ECOLOGICAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT RA 9003- it is an act providing program and mechanism declaring prohibited acts and its corresponding penalties, funds for appropriation concerning ecological solid waste management     SOURCE: RA 9003

"And there is a new local ordinance being crafted in the local ecological solid waste management, which includes a list of new penalties pertaining to improper waste disposal, but it is still under review, and was recently reviewed by officials of the Surigao city legislation ( local government) , last September 28, 2023. this ordinance will have a final reading the following week and hopefully will be approved by the sangguniang panglungsod."
